Introduction To computers

Content Objective:
Students will create and maintain a Blog.  Also, they will become familiar with the basic features of the Word Processing Application, by completing desktop publishing projects.

Technology Standards:
Standard 1 - Basic operations and concepts
1.a.2. Demonstrate proper care of computer hardware, software
1.b.1. Use basic commands to save, print, locate, and open
1.b.3. Use keyboard to input text

Standard 2 - Social, ethical and human issues
2.b.1. Practice safety when communicating via the Internet

Standard 3 - Technology Productivity tools
3.a.1. Use word processor/graphic organizer for learning tasks

Language Objective:
Using Academic/content language students will respond to todays Journal prompt by validating their thoughts/ideas in complete sentences.  Also students will actively listen to instructions, lectures, and presentations.  During Closure/discussions/Think, pair, share students will articulate and recall with a partner.

Writing Standards for Literacy (CCR):
6. Use technology, including the Internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products, taking advantage of technology’s capacity to link to other information and to display information flexibly and dynamically.
